Hard to believe but these are boots from the same pair, one recrafted at the Danner factory and the other as sent in, this was their second time back. Amazing

Can't go wrong with Danner. I had a pair of their boots for about six years. They were almost bulletproof, but sadly... not dog proof.

All my combat boots are danner! They are very comfy but they don't last as long in the sandbox as some of the others :/ That is a sharp looking pair of boots!

Well old man winter decided to kick us in the *** one more time before spring. A foot of snow today and down to -15 tonight after +10 and sunny yesterday (in Celsius of course)

Having some weird noises up front, especially when cold. I get a grinding noise almost when turning ( mostly when close to lock or tight corners )

Does seem to go away as it warms up. No loss in steering power but I can feel vibrations (small) in the steering wheel when I hear the noise.

Any thoughts? Was wondering if my PS pump was going.

Try adding grease to the bolt heads where the LCA and hub meet at lock. That seemed to fix my grinding noise when I was near or at full lock. You'll see a little indentation in the LCA. Slap some grease in that area and it might fix the problem.

I'll give it a shot. It's not a mechanical grinding and perhaps grinding isn't the right word to describe it. I haven't had a chance to really look under it and I am away this week for work

Going to the in laws this upcoming weekend to check out the steering issues.

I also had a couple of rough starts where are idle there was a lot of cavitation and the "service engine soon" light started flashing. This light has been on and off for a year or so.

I pulled over both times and shut the truck down immediately, waited a few minutes then restarted and the issue went away.

I am thinking maybe an O2 sensor? any other thoughts? might be time for a new distributor as well

Rough starts shouldn't be O2 related. Have you pulled the codes yet? The OBDII readers are down to $20 these days, everyone should have one.

If no codes I would start with the tune up items that haven't been touched in a while (plugs, wires, air filter, dist cap, cleaning the throttle body, maf etc).

It doesn't start rough, just runs rough. The code that has been there awhile is emissions related but I didn't think to check after this happened.

I have a scangauge so it would have only taken me a few seconds, and now I am away from it for a few days

Second this. When was the last time the basic maintenance items were done? Like Stioc said, O2 sensors wouldn't attribute to running rough or even rough starts. Pull the code, but if that's not it, then time to troubleshoot.
