Motorcycle ID?

Trying to figure out what motorcycle this is based on?

It came from this thread regarding the military KLR650's, but the tank looks smaller as does the body cladding.

Looks like probably a KLX400 to me.

Could be the Suzuki DRZ400 since they are the same bike but I'd probably lean toward the Kawasaki version given the KLR history, etc.

Interesting as the US military has used primarily KLR650s and the Hayes modified KLRs (including the new multi-fuel model) http://www.hdtusa.com/

Then again, that may not be a US military bike and you also see all manner of non-standard vehicles pressed into service overseas.
