It looks like a lot of work for the space you get out of it. Why not just get a tent?

I put my legs beneath it and sleep with my head facing out, that way i can look at stars if i want to. It's plenty sturdy. Not olympic but something similar. Some no name brand. All steel construction though.

It's nice being off the ground.

Not to mention it's all removable for day trips. And I actually have very little difference in trunk space when i don't bring that big black futon along. I can bring a roll up sleep mat which doesn't take up much room at all and would suffice for me. Also, it saves cargo room in the tent, table and kitchen departments. :chef:

Update:

I've got a new update.

Found more time to work on it and got some more done today including:

Ebony color wood stain, a clear polyurethane coat to keep it water/ rot/ warp proof, recessed the stove and sink, added a drain to the sink and fixed some PVC mounts to the platform.

So, all that is left is the canvas which i will attempt to work on tonight..
