I love to see the world through the eyes of a young child!
When ever we have our nieces or nephews visit us while on the road, when we go out hiking I give them each a camera and a lens of their choice, and let them take what ever they want.
I offer instruction only if they ask for it or want to achieve a certain look that they cant set the camera for.
My wife and I are always amazed when we get back to the camper and look at their photos. Kids tend to look at every day subjects 180 degrees different than you or I might.
For Christmas or Birthdays, I'll usually enlarge some of thier shots for them or get them framed which they love to see their own work hung on the wall.
Its pretty rewarding for all of us really.
Only thing I could recommend is not to push her in any direction. I tried that with my own daughter and she went from really enjoying being behind the camera to never touching it because I tried to push her to do it more than she wanted.
Learned with my nieces and nephews, just give it to them and let them do what they want at their pace.
Good luck because two photographers in the family can be expensive...LOL
