Kid's got a good eye. Has been taking photography classes? Or is it natural talent?

photography classes? Nope.

just got bored taking "Myspace" photos I guess... She, goes "hey dad, can I use your camera" I said "Sure, but dont forget to remove the lens cap".

Those are some pretty good photos. I like the detail shots, and the depth of field test shot of the chockline down the length of the dock is very cool.

Huntington area?

I love to see the world through the eyes of a young child!

When ever we have our nieces or nephews visit us while on the road, when we go out hiking I give them each a camera and a lens of their choice, and let them take what ever they want.

I offer instruction only if they ask for it or want to achieve a certain look that they cant set the camera for.

My wife and I are always amazed when we get back to the camper and look at their photos. Kids tend to look at every day subjects 180 degrees different than you or I might.

For Christmas or Birthdays, I'll usually enlarge some of thier shots for them or get them framed which they love to see their own work hung on the wall.

Its pretty rewarding for all of us really.

Only thing I could recommend is not to push her in any direction. I tried that with my own daughter and she went from really enjoying being behind the camera to never touching it because I tried to push her to do it more than she wanted.

Learned with my nieces and nephews, just give it to them and let them do what they want at their pace.

Good luck because two photographers in the family can be expensive...LOL

Nice shots.

Looks like she either understands the rule of thirds or is naturally exercising it.

kudos.

Very nice shots, What type of camera was she using?

[soapbox]I'm sure you're not intending your question this way but when a photographer hears that question posed that way, it's a can easily be seen as quite an insult... since on the face of it you're associating the good picture with a nice camera versus a good photographer.

A good shooter can get an awesome shot using any cheapo camera that's able to focus and capture most colors while a crappy photographer wouldn't be able to capture much regardless of if they were using a $50K camera made using 'unobtanium' technology.[/soapbox]:ylsmoke:
