Wow! That completely changed the entire attitude of your truck. I'm impressed with your work, as usual, but I can't say I didn't like the truck before too. I think it will look a whole lot better sans the body lift.
Wow man...very impressed with this build thread. I love reading these end to end. Starts off learning to weld, stock 2WD, now look!
Very stout fab work too, I can only wish that when I finally learn to weld I can do so well. I used to have a 2003 Dakota 2WD with the 3.9L, really wanted the 4.7L, but it didn't work out. Loved that truck.
but sold it and bought (stock and built it myself) this...
Figured out the divorced np-231 Dana 24 divorced doubler.
At this point the front suspension was done so I drove it all goofy like! one of the coolest moments ever! a half solid axle swapped truck. So I set up caster and went out!
I then sourced some chevy 63's and a 14 bolt for the rear and modeled all the brackets.
dropped the bodylift, had to re-wire the TCM since I shorted it out and the wires during the BL removal. that was the biggest PITA ever.
bent a link

So I sleeved .375" Cromo with another .375" Cromo for the drivers side.
gonna sleeve the unbent pass DOM with a .375 cromo.
I dont think it will bend now.
sleeved the left with the right
I saw in some offroad mag some guy used an s-10 bed, frame and axle to make a cool campershell camper trailer... I think that may be something I wanna do, with a dakota bed.
dont wanna put my campershell on, it will get bashed up in the trails, thinking this would make a good expo trailer. on board water, etc.. would be cool
so should I buy this...
