Something you don't see everyday.

A 4x4 Sportsmobile towing a 4x4 Toyota Tacoma!

In Julian, CA.

Best of both worlds?

What is this guy thinking?........hum!

It's hard to see.....but if you look real close at the shadow behind the van....you can see the shadow of the tow bar.

This is a photograph that my wife took while we were down in Costa Rica, on our way to a village of the indigenous Bri Bri people up in the mountains. And that's quite a story in and of itself!

I don't think I have posted a pic here yet, because it is difficult for me to pick a favorite, or even a just a few favorites. There are some really great shots in this thread, and I hope we get even more contributors here.

Late to the party...

Here are a couple pics I found.

1. About 15 miles offshore we ran into these guys, slowed the boat down and watched them surf our bow wake for about five minutes.
2. Under the influence of Baja.

Well of the shots of my rig in Tellico these are my favortes. They were taken on a trail called upper 2. Bone stock suspension and 31's. don't let anyone tell you it can't be done! When I dropped into the whole all I heard was "STOP STOP!!!" then after about a 5 second silence I hear "SOMEONE GET THE CAMERA" LOL!

i've got a lot of shots i like, but here are three that "take me there".

mountains-20.jpg

i love the subject isolation. no bells and whistles. just passing clouds. i was hiking the pass on the left flank of the mountain when those clouds started forming. i hurried down, grabbed my camera and started snapping.

mountains-16.jpg

a grand place near aspen. i'm glad to have stood on that hillside and borrowed a little light there.

forests-14.jpg

this could be anywhere in subalpine (this happens to be near boss lake). i can almost hear the shhhhh of the wind and smell the dampness and spruce-fir resin. it's my favorite ecozone, and i submitted my first wikipedia article about it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subalpine

That nightime lighting photo is pretty incredible. Out of curiosity, how long of an exposure was that?

I'm always curious how people get such amazing night shots. I have played around with every conceivable aperature, shutter, and film speed and can't seem to get quality night shots without some artificial lighting somewhere.

Take a look at the trajection of the stars meaning that must have been a very long exposure, but with the moon apparently somewhat full the fstop was probably really high which always leads me such such poor quality shots on a 35mm (granted this was likely not 35mm).

Anyone here can provide some additional hints for night photos?

The best photography I've ever done was on 5x7 pinhole camera, but totally amateur.
