Just picked up my first Adventure bike, coming from sport bikes, I took the dive and picked this one up yesterday. Had to do it Solo as the wife would not approve, took the buy first explain later approach to the wife, she isnt to happy with me right now, but inside I am so happy. Hopefully one day I can do an overland trip to South America. So without further ado her is my new bike!!

I got the 1100gs a few month ago, excellent bikes on the road. You will have many years of no trouble! but always watch the others :))

She is one pretty bike. Nicely done mate!
My wife is cracking up as I'll do the same thing someday as she read your post.

I have 31,000 on my 2010 GS. Gas and go. It's very easy to service yourself, mine has never been to the dealer.

Teach me master. I'm tired of going to the dealerships around the continent. I've heard they are easy to work on....but I'm always on the road and that makes it difficult to work on them :-(

Not to throw a rock in here, but there are several good CDs available on "How to work on your own GS." Look on BeemerBoneyard.com. Great chance to get to know the machine between your legs in a more nuts and bolts manner.
