I've been anxiously awaiting this thread since I saw your "4runner gone" post last night. I just knew you had found your Cruiser....
Well I couldn't let you have all of the fun. I was so happy for you when you scored your 62, but man, was I envious. I'm just happy for both of us now.

We gotta get you some kids. Nephews don't count. And shouldn't you be studying?

Any chance that you'll be taking it on your Great Lakes trip?
Doubtful. The T100 & FWC will be making that loop. Too many nights camping to not bring the FWC. The Cruiser will be like my pistol, for short range journeys and the truck & camper is like my rifle, for long range trips. I appreciate the props and story though. The fever....

Congrats KC, i also just knew you had pulled this off.
It was nice to work a car deal and not feel guilty or feel like I got hosed. Sometimes things work out just the way they're supposed to.

More Cruiser karma. Love that color too. That's very cool Doron still has the 40.

Great FJ60...and the perfect color for a Cruiser, IMHO!
Don't think seeing how good it looked on your Troopie wasn't a big influence. I really like the color with your black rims too. Hmmm...

Like a passage out of Genesis: On the 403rd day, KC found his FJ60 and called it good.
The anti-Christ quoting the good book? Apocolypse here we come!

So was the seller from Colorado? That FJ60 looks very familiar to me.
Yep. A really nice guy, a pleasure to work with.

What a wonderful thread :)
....I love the Wyoming snow storm story!
Thanks Andre. Congrats on your purchase too. The snow storm was one of the worst I've seen and I've seen some wicked stuff that would make a normal man cry... ;)

I think you scored on the better end of it.
You know what made this such a great deal? The fact that the guy who bought the 4Runner, his buddies are likely telling him the same thing. I think we both scored and we both left smiling.

Hmmm...Is this the truck KC will try out the TrXus MTs on ???

Actually it was the 4Runner that I was set on to try those tires. I had already priced an OME lift and 31" TrXus tires for it. It needed a suspension and good tires. I'm glad now I didn't order that stuff. Fortunately for the wallet, the Cruiser doesn't need tires. The BFG's have gobs of tread left.

In other good news my neighbor, the certified master Toyota tech, (who loves and owns a 2F) gave it a pretty good review upon an inspection this evening. He's meticulous and picky but he didn't rip it apart. He suggested a few maintenance items, most of which the PO had mentioned too. He offered to help rebuild the leaking power steering pump which is the source of the leak I'm seeing. The rest can be tended to in the coming months he said. Good to know.

So far, so fun -

Nice 60...

You only need to add the H55F, an anti-sway bar from an FJ62, FJ62 RV mirrors, extended range tank, second battery, and you're done!

Welcome to the 60 Club, KC!

Great color choice.

Dropping mine off in California later this month to get its new diesel and transmission . . . and lots of goodies, too. All this will be detailed in the upcoming Spring Overland Journal.

Soon as it gets back, I'm losing the stripes and getting it repainted. Or replacing the stripes with cheetah print. HA! (Insert gasp of horror from Jonathan). Taller wheels/tires. A very nice carbon-fiber AutohomeUS tent. That's about it to complete the perfect vehicle for me.

These rigs are SO much fun to drive - I had forgotten how much fun my 55 was, and this one feels luxurious in comparison. Power steering! Adjustable seats! Woooooo!

Have fun - congratulations.

I've owned a handful of 60's, never really latched on to one though. I'm hoping to change that in the future. Post some more pics!

KC: Nice 60 for sure...congratulations! And an even better story. I too have always had a "thing" for 60's. Before buying my hundy I had a plan to buy a 60 and do a frame up build. Couldn't find the right rig as you know most have serious rust cancer issues for starters. But how exciting to see and hear of your score!

I have spent a lot of time in the Medicine Bow forest area. Since moving from the midwest I haven't been there in over a dozen years now but it used to be a real gem for bc skiing, remote mountain biking, camping, exploring, etc.

Needs to get out more
KC: The very first trip I took my FJ62 on, I went out solo and slept in the back, by myself. I awoke and looked out the foggy windows and this guy was looking back at me...we shared some interested looks with one another and he went on his way...

I am confident you will find the adventure I found with my 60 series....

As has been said many times....Great story and Congrats!

I did laugh when I saw "Lander", I remember going to meet a guy there and he said "take the road out of town". I asked which one? Reply, "there's only one, son".
