My Mid-life Crisis "build."

Have so many friends with FJ’s.. I should have bought one when I had a chance in 2011 - was frame off and only $6500.

But I need something that clients can ride in while wearing a suit.?

JK doesn't conjure up an image of toting around suit wearing people. :p

While Lexus, Audi, BMW, Volvo, etc does...

Yeah, I wanted a Jeep like forever, test drove... dunno... 10-12 of them before I bought my Tacoma, all of them were piles...one even broke down on a test drive!

Have a few dirt bike buddies with JK's, while the idea is good, they are just poorly executed. Have a friend building up one right now, frame-up resto with an LS and 60's. Probably the only way to own a Jeep the right way. Get rid of all the "Jeep" parts except the body and frame.

I'll admit... that got a lollers out of me.

Thinking 4-door JK...

i've never owned a jeep... My wife is wondering if I need my meds checked.
I've owned a WJ Grand, a TJ and a '14 Cherokee. They were okay. I found they were no better or no worse than any other make I've owned. I keep finding myself poking aroun d looking at 2020 Gladiator stuff....

The gladiator looks interesting, for sure.

Looks like I’m going to be selling my Toyota’s. Double cab first, then xtracab, then 4Runner. I’m picking up a JK on the 27th. ?

Congrats! What are the details on the JK?

After months of dealing with Craigslist and the people it attracts, sold my FJ Cruiser wheels for exactly the same price I paid for them 3 years ago. Promptly gave some of that $ away to have a gentleman cut down some widow makers on my driveway.

Having the rigs detailed on Tuesday to get ready for creating for sale ads...

Detailers were at the house for 12 hours on Tuesday - had all 5 vehicles done. Did a fantastic job and allowed me the opportunity to ask a lot of questions.

One if my clients is interested in the 4Runner. My neighbor heard my price on the doublecab and is interested (he won’t buy it, but glad there’s interest). Hardest part is figuring out a price for the xtracab. Thing only has 43k miles. ?506686506686

Feels very different than the Toyota’s. Not good or bad, just different. Fun to drive a manual again. Handles pretty good at 75. Can feel a slight roll with the opposing panhards.

After two flight cancellations (I’ve been awake since 3:45 EDT), a delayed connection and then a major delay for my wife’s flight, we headed east. Staying in Lake Arrowhead, CA tonight (I love my bonvoy points)... the drive here includes the worst fog I’ve ever driven through... let alone after being up for 20 hours in a new-to-me vehicle.

Both, actually. I'll write more later. I'm 30 seconds away from getting my quota from my boss....

Boss boss? or the wife "boss"?

I should of put money on you getting a new vehicle. Knew you couldn't hold out! :D

Boss boss… was happily surprised. I anticipated 500% increase; only got 400%. hahahaha :(

I still may flip this. I'm pretty sure that I can make 20%. Overall, I like it. I does need two things: Tune - it's tuned for a different elevation. I think there's a ton of upside on this thing. Second thing is just a general updating of the known weak points (i.e. the front axle housing). Then call it good.

Edit: one frustrating thing. I don’t understand why the power windondwitches are on the dash. I’ve heard the “well. The doors are removable “ reasoning, but that doesn’t make sense to my feeble brain... if the power door lock button can be on the door, why not the power window?

And... I’m used to having locker switches in the center of the vehicle. Jeep puts them to the left of the steering wheel. No biggie, just different.

I do like the size. Slightly bigger then a 4runner, smaller than a Tacoma doublecab
