Sweet! I've had my eye on that one for some time. It's one of the ones that was tempting me to do a fly-n-drive! I'm still looking for a Gen 2.5 myself; can't wait to see how your project goes.

HELP any pointers on how to get it into Low LOC ? Ive recently looked at 8-10 monteros while i was shopping of course the diff loc was the selling point for me so as i shopped id would try all of the 4x4 settings. each one seemed a bit different one took a grat amount of force and a few wouldnt even go into 4low loc. so fast forward to this one and EVERYTHING WORKS. when i test drove it yesterday i put it in 4 hi and 4 high loc the rear lights are out in the pictogram on the dash but the center diff liights up GREAT!.. I go to shift into 4 low and the P/O had a phone mount installed in such a fashion the it blocked the 4wd lever from going into 4 low. so iI said to myself no prob... i ll remove the mount and it will go. so i get home tonight and try to put it in low loc ....nothing...... any tips on an obviously underused 4wd to shift it? tips? pointers? by the way the rear difflock does work fine....

I'm kinda confused on the 4x4 as well. I thought you just put it into 4lc and then put the tranny in low. Is the a 4th spot to put the 4x4 lever in?

well as you push the lever forward you let 4w hi and the front tires light up nest you get 4 hi loc and the center diff lghts up then 4 low lock is push lever to the left and then forward towards the lighter socket. but in my case it wouldnt go past 4 HIH loc... eventually i got it in and now im "excercising it" so it will be smoother
