My new/ classic ride

My 85' 280GE. Plans are to do a frame off rest/ expedition build in which I will do a 300TD and 5 speed swap. Also with it I got a tropical roof and a military snorkel for it.

Thank you, I know nothing about G's for I have been a Landcruiser guy for some time but I am looking forward to figuring it all out for they are stout vehicles. Lots of plans for it already, making the list.

im actually in a similar situation myself with my 87 2 door LWB 230GE project thats about to start with 1999 606a swap.

i thought it was neat, but then i thought, who needs anther 100lbs on the roof.

Yeah he was over on clubgwagen. I met him a few times in germany before he brought it back. Good guy. I actually debated on that thing while we were there, but the boss put a quash on it. Good luck!

Thanks, yep bought from guy in FL. Bought the NIB military snorkel and tropical roof as well. Plans are to do a 300TD swap and do a frame off eventually like I did my BJ42 and make it my primary camping vehicle. I am actually picking it up here in about 10 days. Want to add a platform drawer system behind rear seats. just found out today that it has 4.88 gears which explains 60mph at 3000 rpm in 4th gear and why it's a gas hog. Gongto take that eye sore of a winch off front first thing and figure out how to mount the tropical roof.
