My New Roof Ornament

This beefcake landed on my truck's roof this morning while I was having coffee on the porch. Wonder if he will blow off while I'm driving?

Beware!

In American folklore, especially among the Celtic descendents of Appalachia, the appearance of an owl during the daytime is an omen of impending death or disaster, though not necessarily for the person who sees the owl.
:Wow1:

Not that I believe any of that stuff! :ylsmoke:

Cool pics. Thanks for sharing.

I was wondering if that was good luck, or some sort of omen. After seeing Superu's post, I'm going to lean towards omen. It's beautiful, tho!

Thanks for looking. :)

It was cool to see. I wish I had the skill to catch it in flight as it took off but it was really low light so I knew it would be wasted effort. As it was these shots were taken with a flash (hence the goofy eye color after red eye correction attempt) and ISO 1000.

I did go out to see if he scratched my paint but he was gentle.

Must be owl season... my wife saw a small owl in our yard last night. She thinks it was a screech owl, but didn't get a very good look at it in the fading light.

I'm guessing that hood ornament would be good for at least 2-4 more MPG if you could figure out how to adjust it's wings just like getting a boat up on plane

I would at least print out a 4x6 print of these photos and keep them in the center console so when people ask about the scratches on the pillar, you can show them the photo...I'm guessing if you just told them about it, they'd laugh and not believe you.

What an amazing way to start the morning! Awesome that you thought quickly enough to grab the camera, bump up your ISO and fire off a few shots...shows you know what you're doing behind that camera

Thanks Pat. I am starting to understand the basics. Now I just need more practice. These were not tack sharp but still good enough to enjoy.
