what are you planning for the floor? metal or a custom Oak floor with stainless trim strips and mounting bolts?

At work now.....I am picking it up after work and will hopefully get some pictures of it on before the sun goes down! Unfortunately at this point I am planning on just a piece of plywood for the floor until I can get more $$$$$ !:(

Good new is that I picked up the cover tonight. It looks great! Bad news is that I have a stuck caliper in my Jeep and I was working on that all evening. Pics tomorrow of the cover on the trailer I hope!

The Cover Is On!!

Sorry for the delay, but the cover is on!!!!!! I am also thinking about adding a mount for my hi-lift jack and jerry can. Weather does not look good for this weekend or next week, but when it breaks, I will do the second coat on the box and trim and paint the fenders.

I like your build, I have a strong suggestion I am going to throw at you, get some seam sealer and squirt it in around all of the seams to keep the water out, this will keep your trailer from rusting out around the edges as well and you can go back over it with one coat of paint and be fine. The sealer to do the whole trailer should cost less than 60 bucks. I will be watching to see what else you do with it.

Looks good for a fellow easterner. I agree with you on this weather. Havoc on my Sinus' one day it is 83 and the next it is 58 and rainny.

Chopped the fenders!

Had some time this morning so I decided to chop the fenders. I cut them 3 1/2 inches and gained over 2" in tire clearance to the fender!

Below has the right side cut 3 1/2 and the left side has not been done yet.

Gained over 2" clearance from tire to fender. The rolled edge of the fender makes it look closer, but extends beyond the tread of the tire.

I was going to ask how Maine07jk is planning on keeping out the elements. Is the seam sealer paintable, or does it go on after the paint job?

Due to the placement of my floor on the inside it will not get wet inside. Water does have the potential of getting into the cracks and rusting over time, but will go under my floor. Thank you for the seam sealer info!

Finally have some time to get the floor in today. I think I am also going to shoot it over to my local dump to see if they will weigh it! I doubt the weather will be good enough for the second coat of hammered.

Comes in at 580 lbs

Made some progress today!!!!! First of all I got it weighed after I put in the floor. It came in at 580lbs. I treated the under side of the floor and got it in place. I will be cutting a piece of boat bunk carpet for the inside floor. I also got the second coat of hammered on the box. All I have left are the lights and to paint the fenders and stage one of the build will be complete!
