In no way do I want to come accross as negative on your build. Very well done, just did not want to see you end up wasting money and have a problem. Glad you are making the tongue stronger, I trust your new trailer will give you many miles of happy trails. Great job.

No worries! This is my first build with anything like this and I am by no means an expert fabricator! I picked up the metal today and it should take much time to add the pieces on at this point.

Take a look at the first couple of pictures of my build, it will show you the triangulazation I was taling about. Pictures are worth a thousand words. There are many others to look at.

Yea I kinda like it. The wife says she is glad I can not get it through the bedroom door,, I have measured. Absolutely my favorite vehicle I have ever had. My 67 Vette was close, but long gone.

Not much work done this week between the snow and cold temps. I did manage to get the base piece to my front storage are cut out and ready to be welded on and painted. Hopefully I can get the triangulation pieces welded onto my tongue this week.

Got the triangulation done today on the tongue and also welded on the metal bottom for the front storage. Now I need the weather to warm up so I can get it painted!

Now with three kiddos, the JK was just not big enough for them and all our gear for our trips to the family camp in Northern Maine. My long term dream would be to have a metal top for a roof top tent for the and the kiddos to go on adventures. Since my son's adoption eight months ago, money has been even tighter than it was before. Regardless of the costs involved in the adoption, I would not change it for anything!! With that said, for now I will probably have to go with a soft top to keep the items out of the elements.
