My Taco Phoenix Pop Up Camper

18seeds, did he seriously do that? The writing from Cannonball and the Wasp sound almost identical...so it wouldn't surprise me much.

yup, I called him out on it once and he said it was a marketing technique... what a joke. I've been following Phoenix crap for probably over 8 years.

the reason most owners don't get on this site and bash the quality is that they are trying to unload their junk for the most they can get. by the time they sell it they are just happy it's over and move on.

That's good news. Hope for you yet MYTACO :)

Hey all! A good update on our end, Phoenix has agreed to a professional reseal (if we can find someone here in Central America) and also to replace the liner when we finally make it back to Colorado. Yaaaay! We will be out of the country for another year about so hoping to find someone down here who can do a re-seal for us soon!

MyTaco, your photos look exactly like the inside of our camper every time it rains! Did I read that you took it back for a re-seal or did you just have the liner replaced?

We're hoping to find a RV Service center down here in the next month before rainy season starts so if anyone has any leads on one, I'd be mighty grateful for the information as google and yellowpages has turned up nothing. Thanks in advance for any info that can help us!

He didn't say, just that if we could find an RV service specialist they would pay for it to be done. We will get the liner replaced when we get back to the states. I can't imagine a rubber seal peeling any worse than the caulk or silicone products the roof started with?

I’m going into my 4th season with about 60-70 camp nights with my Phoenix and I can still say I happier than ever with my Phoenix purchase. My camper has been all over the Southwest where it has baked in 120 degree temps in the desert, frozen in the high Rockies on several occasions, drenched in rain, piled in snow, shaken on wash board roads, twisted like a pretzel off-road and I haven’t had any problems with mine. I feel mine probably experiences more off-road time than your average camper. The only problem I have had to date was about at the 9 month mark the water heater stopped working. I ran it up to Denver for Phoenix to look at where they found a component inside the water heater assembly had failed. You can’t blame them for a failure of a supplier’s component. They quickly repaired it under warranty with no issue.

Just recently I wanted to upgrade the stove top to a more modern stove/sink combo in order to free up counter space when not using the sink or the stove and I also wanted to have solar power added. I didn’t give it a second thought to take the camper back to Rob to make these changes to the camper. I have no issues with Phoenix nor am I associated with them. I am just another customer.

I feel it is a pity these forums pretty much bring out the most boisterous of people that never have anything good to say. Many of those that have posted here simply want to do is bash organizations in a public light as some kind of immature revenge tactic as a poor method of issue resolution. Notice you never see threads saying, hey….I love your stuff! No, human nature and the power of the internet is to only bring up complaints, not compliments no matter if it is a camper, lawn mower or cell phone. People will always complain more than compliment.

For anybody attending the Overland Expo this year is more than welcome to look over my camper, especially you 18seeds. I would love to meet your loud mouth and find out what makes you such an expert and critic of the RV industry but yet claims to be a business professional. Business professionals do not act the way you have carried yourself in this thread.

It would be a shame for a potential Phoenix customer to read through this kind of garbage and overlook Phoenix but I would hope most mature adults would see through all of this crap and do their own research. Hope to see you all at Expo! :)

Hi Rob, Are you still posting your campers on craigslist under different names?

18seeds, did he seriously do that? The writing from Cannonball and the Wasp sound almost identical...so it wouldn't surprise me much.

Hope not. I wonder if Admins have access to IP information.

We do.

They are not sharing an IP address, neither are from the western US, & their geographic locations are separated by a bunch of salt water (all based on the IP addresses attached to their posts).

I was thinking of a trip to the EXPO. Would I be allowed to show my TC?

That's what I was thinking! I just looked at the registration site and plan on going. I'm really interested in the FWC and looking at other options. Maybe one of those fancy workshops can tell me how to stops the leaks.

So does anyone recommend the workshops?

well since I'm such an expert I could hold a class.... Ha

Unfortunately I won't be able to attend but here are the cliff notes

When buying a new camper go look at a few used campers to see how well they age.

I am submitting my vacation request tomorrow! I hadn't given the Expo much thought, but am anxious to see other Phoenix TCs and hopefully determine why mine leaks and theirs doesn't.

Has anyone ever gone to the Expo? Any recommendations on what to do and see? Are the packages worth it? I will be taking the spouse so almost $500 is kind of pricey to see other Phoenix campers.

Ok so this weekend I had a issue with my camper....a leak in my tank less hot Water Heater system. Sent Phoenix Campers a quick email. Get a reply the same day & Rob diagnosed it with me. Turns out I did not drain the water properly out of it last fall or when I had the furnace upgraded the RV shop tested all the system and did not drain it. Most likely burst a line inside when it froze. Cari orders me up another at dealer pricing and drop ships it to my house with a email notification within minutes. Rob offers to walk me through the install when it arrives to save me some $. Cari asks if I have had any issues and I mention breaking off the tab on an awning leg in - 5ish Celsius weather. She says "those little orange ones in side the leg?"....."I can get you some more of those and ship them up". Phoenix Campers service can be good and the camper is as well so far. Just saying....and opinions vary.
