Body doesn't dent easy, but dents are expensive.

How well does the bed hold up to hauling firewood, load of gravel, pallets of tile, etc?

Can you toss logs in there like the trucks of the 50's, 60's, and 70's...and not worry. Or do you have place objects in there like handling a delicate soufflé?

heck even my F150 and F250 from the late 70's would dent if you threw firewood or rocks in.

That is how we treated our trucks, beds were all dented to hell. But we used them as they should...whole reason you buy a truck right? Did throw down a sheet of ply to absorb some of the impact, but we weren't too-too kind to them.

Buliwyf, mentioned being worried about getting dents from shopping carts, so it doesn't sound too tough. The floor in our E350 box van was aluminum, IIRC is was extruded...it could take a beating.

Is a minivan based Honda Ridgeline's bed tougher???

Aren't they a little stupid for being under the bucket of that thing? I thought exiting the cab of a skid steer with the bucket up was a no no.

It is, my dad almost got his foot cutoff by doing something similar. He was working on our Bobcat 753 with the arms up in the air, luckily the bucket had teeth on it and prevented it from being sheered completely off. Did give him one hell of a scar though. Something like 1/2" wide upside down V that went from one side to the other. It was gnarly!

That and why aren't they tossing the blocks back into the bucket? Guess they like working twice as hard. :D

And what is this you can't run the Super Duties through a carwash, or it will fry the electronics???

My 2017 gets ran thru an auto wash weekly, have an unlimited membership. So thats about 100 washes, no issues yet.

Was wondering, not the first time I have read the Big B (tired of looking up how to spell his **********' screen name:p ) mentioning something about carwashes...makes me wonder if you can drive those trucks in the rain. LOL

Yeah, it seems like I spend $10 at the coin op...just easier to run it through the carwash for the same price (or cheaper). Though, I don't wash my truck very often. Prolly more in the winter to get road deicer off of it.

I haul lumber, gravel, pavers, concrete block, car engines, and all kinds of stuff and have had zero problems with the aluminum bed in my F150.

Where on earth did you hear that?

@Buliwyf has mentioned it several times.

Do you toss stuff in there with reckless abandon. or are you careful?

Example: can you jack hammer out a concrete driveway, then toss the chunks in there? or do you have to walk over every time and place them down carefully. Asking for a friend... :D

I dont know, but it cannot be worse than the steel sheetmetal on the 2011-2016 trucks

Talk about thin! I feel like if I lean an elbow on it it will leave a dent.

Sure you can do that if your careful and don’t throw it in, I put a old real estate sign in the bed of my work f150 to take to the firearms range, it slide just right and went right threw the bottom corner of the tailgate. A guy at work was backing up his f150 and a branch from a tree hit right and put a hole in the roof. The truck is silver, he just put silver duct tape over the hole and plans on trading it in.
