All hooked up and charging. Converter finally arrived after UPS lost it so I can test that a bit tomorrow during the drive. BP and I think this thing is done!

Dont mind the wide angle lens distortion!

What size did you end up going with?

Just to confirm, all your washers are above the terminal lugs correct? Highest current lug on the bottom?

Size of battery? 105Ah, not sure if that’s what you were asking though.

I doubt I have the washers In the correct order. My IP67 would probably be the most current, then MPPT, then fuse box (load) since I couldn’t get it over 9A, then DC/DC and with no current orvery little is the monitor cable for the BMV. What is the proper order top down for those?

if your BMV is configured correctly it should self-calibrate to 100% SOC before your chargers drop to float voltage, if it does not you may need to adjust its settings.. keep an eye on it as it finishes off charging here.

I would run everything through a master disconnect, with the BMV and mebe the shore charger on the hot side for work and maintenance.. then you wont get sparking, and you can shutdown everything but your maintenance charger when in the garage.

No direct link to the entry, but you can search for "Improper Lug Stacking Melt Down" for an explanation. Lots of other tips in the Hall of Fail, too.

oh since you installed a new battery and its all wired up, go through and reset the historical logging on the BMV.. think you can only do it through the panel interface.. its in the manual, but it resets min/max voltage and counter of how much you've used outta that battery.

Looks like its at 100% SOC so it should be fine.

Low current applications it isn't a huge deal, but when you have 50A+ running through a stud, you want to roughly stack the terminals so that the highest current is at the bottom (on the battery directly). No washers between the ring terminals and each other, or the battery itself. Washers (spring/flat) should always be between the nut and the last terminal.

Make sure all the terminals stack flat against each other, and that the barrels are not preventing them from getting good contact.

I stacked as suggested. Excited to get this thing out there and see what I came up with. Im really curious how well the DC/DC will work but I doubt it will need to do much in the hour or so I have between garage power and camp power, I suppose the fridge wont run with temps in the low 30s but if I get to camp and Im at 100% then I guess Im in business?

I normally pull the inline fuse between the battery and fuse panel. This doesn’t help with cut off on the shore charger but I’m really crunched for space and trying to keep things too neat. I’m hoping this will be set for a while once I get the DC/DC permanently mounted and the BP installed.

Ha! Sold on BT BP now!! Less hardware and holes in my precious wood! Those panels took so long to finish to meet my standards so punching holes makes me cringe. History has been reset on the BMV and I added a washer and lock washer under the nut on the terminals.

random question but can this battery be used to jump my truck in a pinch or is this not the dual purpose Duracell like the one from Batteries+? I have a jump pack but I like having backups to backups...my jump pack also has an air compressor which is a backup to my standalone compressor...i have problems!

for a jump it would be fine, for a main starter battery.. deep cycles are poorly suited for big surges of high output until you start chaining more of em together.. worst case you soak your starter battery for a while and they split the load.
