Wondering if anyone has seen the new 1200 GSA at the moto shows this winter and has anyone placed a order??? My dealer says the first bikes should be hitting show rooms in the USA by the end of Feb.

????????????????

Phoenix had the 1200 wethead over a month ago. Is that the machine you are talking about?

I am looking forward to checking them out a bit more at the Int. Motorcycle show in Phx, January 25. Would love to be able to ride one and see how they feel.

I think the water cooled 1200's in the showrooms are GS's not GSA's. I heard the GSA wasn't supposed to be at the dealers until March (which could mean end of Feb).

GSA, not the GS which came out about a year ago. I have a few hours on the new GS Waterboxer, but can't wait until the GSA version shows up.

Sorry

I will try not to demonstrate my vast ignorance in the future. I am just learning about dual sport bikes and not learning very fast I am afraid. Does the GSA just have the larger tank or is more involved?

Larger tank, taller seat, more crash protection, etc. There are a number of comparisons to be found online.

Perfect color, Rockhard426. Excellent machine. I have contemplated moving over to a GSA from my GS. I find it all very interesting how BMW's market place has been challenged by the likes of Triumph, KTM and Ductaci...I suppose I should include Suzuki and Yamaha as of late. Lots of options and directions to take here. I agree with your choice though. Tried and true. I know you will enjoy your machine.

Enjoy....post up some pics when your out and about. We all will be green with envy!!

While I'm a big BMW fan, I don't care for the aesthetics of the new GSA.

It's cluttered and overly complicated, to many angles, no smooth lines - just not feeling the love on this one.

2014 GS/A

If I only owned one vehicle, this would be it. But 14 inches of snow and subzero temps just don't mix well with any motorcycle or bicycle. They will be a big hit.

Here are a few pics of mine, picked it up a couple days ago with 8 miles on the ODO. I turned in my '13 GSw after loving it over the past year. Wife and I took an epic trip from Vegas to Yellowstone to Beaver Creek, fantastic trip on a great bike, not one complaint.

Yet...

The '14 GSAw is the bike BMW built for me. The change made by the heavier flywheel in the engine is very nice to me, slow speed control is better with less clutch/throttle input than the GSw. I had to explain to the wife how this happened, she loved the GSw, I had to assure her she will love this even more...
