Just oredered a set of 4 German NOS fuel cans with the Swiss nozzle. I also oredered a set of the 4 big mouth NOS German water cans. These are never issued so after a good cleaning I will store these in my truck. Has anyone else ordered the german big mouth water cans?

Do you have a link to where you got them ?

And BTW, the Chevy's aren't as bad as you make them out. I know you were speaking mainly about the Duramax but I would take the Chevy gas engines over ANY of fords or dodges offerings.
Also, stock ground clearance is within an inch of the dodge and ford at their lowest point. I went out last week and measured several different trucks on our lot.

I will look up the web site and post it here soon for the German fuel cans. As far as the ground clearance issue Chevy has the lowest. The cross member hangs down and hit EVERYTHING! Today on a typical two rut road I was dragging that very crossmember. All of our older trucks have had them replaced multiple times. Maybe its just on the Duramax trucks? My Dodge has much more clearance! I will take pictures. I too like the Chevy gas engines.

This was on private property so no damage to public lands or roads. I will go back when everything dries out and repair the road. I hate mud.

Today I had Goodyear MTRs with Kevlar installed on my truck. 285/75R 16. They are 33" tall and really help out with ground clearance issue that plagues Chevy truck (Duramax equiped I suspect) So far they are very quiet for such an aggresive tire. I will be in Yellowstone in a few days so I will tell you how good they wheel!

Those are on my short list for new tires, they look great !! I am looking at the MTRs and the Silent Armor all terrains compared to similar BFGs.
I can't wait to hear how they do on the freeway and off road.
What kind of $$$ are we looking at for these ??

The tires are surprisingly quiet on the highway! You can hear them but no more than a new set of BFG ATs! I really like them so far. Ive only put about 700 miles in the last two days but so far I cannot see anywear. Of course its to soon.

Today while coming down into Jackson "Hole" or Jackson as they call it now for God knows why....... I lost my power steering and brakes with a huge display of smoke and noise from under my hood. Since the power steering went out it also took away 98% of my braking power and would not activate my trailers brake system. Now this was on a 10% grade and my combined weight is about 17,000 lbs. I was in first gear on the Allison so I was not going very fast anyway. Still it really sucks when you realize you have no brakes. I was able to use the trailer brake control to activate the trailers brakes to bring me to a safe stop. Not something I want to do on a regular basis or on icy roads! I brought the crippled truck down into Jackson and was able to parallel park the trailer and unhook her. This was no easy feat with no power steering. I then drove the truck into the parking lot (slowly) and had enough braking power to stop her free from her bonds of the trailer. I made an appointment to drop her off Friday to have her repaired. Not a good sign with just under 9,000 miles!:Wow1: Have to go. I have a date with a siesmic station in Yellowstone I need to make! Hopefully my partners truck wont have any problems. Hopefully.

Heres some pics of the damage Not much to look at. You can see the smoke from the power steering unit. This was about 1/100th of the smoke. I believe a hose must have broke and sprayed ps fluid onto the exhaust.

Here are the pics of the number one problem for ground clearance of Chevy trucks. This drags on the center of very mild two rut tracks!
