There’s actual a metal bar behind the plastic. The plastic outer shell is to satisfy UK and Euro crash regulations that prohibit steel bull bars.

Looks very plastic, and useless either way. To be fair, LR and others have been up to these styling gimmicks for decades.

I am sure LR does not want anyone bolting ferrous metal items to their precious aluminum frame or they will end up with galvanic corrosion issues like the Wrangler door and hood hinges.

Wrangler doesn't hold a candle to the original's galvanic corrosion potential.

Argh. Really don't like metal encapsulated in plastic. At altitude (like Colorado) UV decimates plastic and allows moisture to finds its way to the inner structure, creating nice environments for rust.

Per Ineos winter testing was completed before the covid-19 distruption so they lost little of the engineering/testing schedule.
