Four Wheel Campers is set to debut their newest model, the Kolibri, for Mitsubishi Mini Cab and Suzuki Carry trucks.
Approached by Intermountain Mini Trucks last year at the Salt Lake City Sportsman's Expo show to build a camper for them, Four Wheel Campers has delivered big things in a small package. This will be a great option for rural land owners and ranching operations who often send a ranch hand out to watch over various herds for extended periods of time.
Standard features on the Kolibri include a sink, twelve-gallon water tank, two-burner propane stove, propane bottle compartment with regulator, storage in the kitchen cabinetry, a couch that converts into a bed with a storage locker underneath, overhead full-size bed, ceiling lights, the classic Four Wheel pop-up roof with four large windows, 12-volt electrical system, and a 48-inch louvered window. Available options include a roof vent or fan, florescent light, forced air furnace, screen door, external floodlights, awning, auxiliary battery, and the Arctic Pack for colder weather. The dry weight is 650 pounds. With a full water tank and propane, the Kolibri weighs 775 pounds.
Further build details and photos about the Kolibri can be seen here in an interview by Truck Camper Magazine with Tom Hanagan, president of Four Wheel Campers.
I will be in Salt Lake City tomorrow to attend the Sportsman's Expo with the FWC crew. I'll be taking a few more photos and talking with Stan Kennedy about the Kolibri and other new models currently in the design phase at their facility in California.
Four Wheel Campers recently merged their Six-Pac facility in Riverside with their FWC facility in Woodland, to increase and streamline production as they delve further into the international market. Currently FWC has sent campers to Switzerland, Germany, Thailand, Australia and New Zealand. As they continue to grow and expand their presence on a global level, they are creating new models to comply with each country's regulations. It's a very exciting time for Four Wheel Campers right now.
