Looks great FWC guys! I will also echo the earlier comment to make the storage go all the way to the front of the overhead. The slight increase in weight will be "outweighed" by better looks, and more storage.

Shell model, and build it out to your specs?

this is the only way i would buy another fwc. (or any other rig) i know what i want and i will not pay for
what the factory/salesman wants to sell me.

there are many firms that will work with buyers and build it the way the person is paying the bill/and profit
want it.

just my thoughts yours may differ.

I am seriously smitten. Just a few small adjustments and it is ready to drive around the world. Imagine that truck in the Atacama or crossing Mongolia - perfect!

Now that is cool! I would love this in a 5' bed model!

Agreed. Even if it is not the lift up panel at the front you could cover the far forward end with two or more smaller hinged or lift off panels to access the storage there. It may not be used all the time like the front section storage but to have it available would still be useful and visually appealing from the outside. IMO

Good idea. The front would be a great "stash spot" for hunting rifles, or extra fishing rods etc.

I agree. I had pretty much counted out Four Wheel Campers because they were just too small. But this adds back enough room that they may work. And with the side door, the layout changes to the aft dinette, which makes for the three windows for visibility. If the layout of the full-size long bed is the same as this one, but stretched aft, it would be awesome.

One thing I don't understand is the relationship between Jackson Hole and the parent company. Are these going to be regular Four Wheel Campers, or only available through the one dealer?

Either location is OK to order from, depending on where you live. This is another model we are adding to the normal production line. Once we get caught up we will be adding it to the website. We are already taking orders. :)

Why not just make a chassis mount camper? Cut out the cost of the ute bed and maybe save some weight. The thing I see with the ute bed is that being at the wheel well height it raises the center of gravity. With a chassis mount the floor could be a bit lower.

It's not wheel well height and also more stuff is down lower in most flatbed designs, FYI.

(On the Gen2 Tacoma)
From what I have read the Ute bed is 6" higher than the stock bed. With the wheel wells being 9", that puts it at 66% of the height. Not as high as the wheel wells, but definitely higher than the stock bed.
