Don't do it Kurt! But if you do decide to sell/part I'd take the longs and ARB thirds :peepwall: Throw up some pics of your 62 I've never seen any pics and it sounds ************

Dylan

Here she is... now sporting MTR's instead of the BFG's. Pic is on Lower Helldorado in Moab (previous owners pic btw).

Truthfully I didn't do any of the work on the rig... well not directly that is. I sold the customer all the parts, did the cut/turn front axle, built the 3rds IIRC. The 3FE was pulled out of a rolled FJ62 with the intentions of going into my FJ40, I never did the swap and I ended up selling the motor/trans to the owner of the 62 at the time. Fast forward a year or so and the rig came up for sale, knowing all the good parts it had I made an offer and drove it home. I've had it for over a year now. Waiting for a rainy day to give it some needed attention.

BTW Dylan, your memory is failing at a young age my freind :D

Hey Grease Cruiser,

Could you ask Ian with the red cruiser where he got that hood liner?

Thanks,

Dylan

He got it off of ebay from a auto insulation company. He can't remember who it was but said that the material is advertised all the time. HTH's.

You guys are killing me here!

After selling my Subaru and getting along with busing and mooching cars when needed...I decided like 3 days ago to finally give in and get the 60 series I've been lusting over for like a decade now.

I can't drive stick anymore (cartilage damage in left knee) so it's going to be a 62, right now I'm in the research phase (read: no money yet) and hope to be buying in the early spring.

I'm moving to Boulder next fall...so I want to get the rig and start getting it set up by then...wow, I have a timeline for something...wow

Damn Dylan, sorry about that. I forgot all about this thread and missed your question back on page 1. yes the 1/4's are trimmed. They were done by a PO and he did an AWESOME job on them. If you didn't know it was custom you would think they were just made that way at the factory. I'll dig up a pic I just took of the underside showing the "Factory Look" lip.

Hi all,
I guess you can say I'm a HJ60 nut.. I came home from hospital in mine when I was born! Then at 10 learnt to drive it in the bush - was quite a shock to drive it on black top the first time at 16 (when I actually had a license:))

My parents bought it new in '83 and I bought it off them a little while back, its got:

ARB bar
IPF lights
Cibie incerts to replace the stock lights
Redarc dual battery controller (twin calcium sealed batteries)
Ultimate suspension (currently on OME shocks)
ARB long range tank
Milford cargo barrier
Running BFG A/T's on chromed steelies

It's been all over Australia, and the only time it's let anyone down was a blown lower radiator hose one night (had a spare and coolant, so no issues:)), and the clutch master failed.

Its got one tiny bit of rust inside the drivers (RHS in Aus) door, and the paints getting a little thin on the roof (being resprayed next month)

I'm up at work (I work in mineral exploration and play around in 79 series troopies most of the time) so I wont see her to get any pics for about 6 weeks, but if I find one on my laptop I'll post it up!

Glad to see that 60's arent just respected here in Aus!!!

Sean
