That it is, drivers side pre-cat. I ended up clipping the wires. It was a pain! My problem was every time it would loosin up i would give it another turn and it would get tight again.
I felt stupid after I clipped the wires, I thought great what if I can't get this thing to budge and I just cut the wires lol.Now i feel stupid for not thinking of clipping the wires off... Damn. Haha
just scanned through this since i'm looking for a monty. fyi the radio whine can often be caused [or exacerbated] by the varying ground planes the radio sees - there are usually 3: via the metal to metal contact from radio chassis to car chassis [if you bolted / screwed metal to metal], the antenna mount will usually have a ground connection where it mounts to metal, and the actual wiring harness ground wire.
try lifting [sorry.. disconnecting] 1 or 2 [obviously you need at least 1..] but oftentimes just changing the groundcan help with noise. pull the radio out of the chassis, and unplug the radio antenna - if the noise changes you're on to something.
Man the case is pretty nice. I'm thinking about taking the compartment. ..thing on the right side of the rear gate off and attaching the first aid kit in its place. Its too big to fit where in the net where the headrest go and I'd like to have it in a permanent spot. Thats one thing I liked about my X, was the kit on the hatch door.Nice! And it's a new and improved design!!! Ha ha. Hey I started my own thread if you would like to follow. I'd be honored!

I totally dig what he did with his rear gate, as well as the rest of his rig. I'm gonna attempt to strap this thing were he put the pelican case....it may or may not work out, but im gonna give it a shot.Have a look at Imnosaint's build page, he did a really nice mod for his rear door including a way to hang up a case for first aid supplies (shame that Michel took the case, have to find one that fits).
Also don't forget to get a fire extinguisher for your car.
Now if I can only keep birds from $hitting on it lol.Nice and clear. That reminds me that I do have to clear up the fogginess off my head lights soon as it's needed again.
