Thanks man! I used the 3m kit that attaches to a drill. 3M 39008 Headlight Lens Restoration System https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001AIZ5HY/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_RB2wvb0G7T3VN
I have never used mothers. Does it work well?

Yes, It works very well.
Besides the yellow ball that attaches to a drill, Mother's kit also comes with wet sand patches that work really well on badly hazed lights.
Tried it once, it was a lot of manual work, but results were amazing.

Keep the buffing pad. After a few years you can re-buff with just rubbing compound. Very simple. I always apply wax to my headlights to protect from sun.

I've had my pad for 5 years or so. Ha ha. The sand paper pads were tossed. But you can always by 3000 grit and do it by hand with water for other headlights.

I used a similar kit from Turtlewax that had the buffing ballhead and the different grades of wetsand paper. My Acura's headlamps were really bad and they came out pretty good. Had to recharge my cordless drill 3 times to finish both headlamps!

I ordered some of these the other day. I've always seen dakar stickers but never any chrome emblems, so I ordered 4 of em.

they are coming from china, so it will be a week or two before I see em. Hopefully they will be as sweet as they look.

Edit: I found them on ebay...I forgot to mention that.

I never thought about that until you pointed it out but they look like they are identical to the chrome on the door handle. The ebay add says they are 99mm's long which is 3.897 inches. That would be pretty sweet if they fit. I will pop those other chrome inserts right out if so lol.

I fixed my power antenna yesterday. Super easy and if anyone has a broken mast this will totally help.

Heres the mast I ordered
AntennaMastsRus A084-515821 2001-2006 Mitsubishi Montero Power Antenna Mast https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JS9QHKG/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_R3Yxvb0TW523S
$40 on amazon.

I had to find a long piece on metal to put inside the broken mast so it wouldn't collapse from the force of the vise grips.

Use a little penetrating oil around the base of the old mast because more than likely it will be stuck on there.

New mast in

It will take 2 people for this, 1 to turn the acc on and off, and 1 to feed the cable into the power antenna motor.

Edit: in order to get the new antenna all the way seated in the post I had to use a rubber mallet to tap it all the way in.

End result

Nice! I've always wanted mine to work! Ha ha. How do you know if it's the motor or the mast that's broken?

If its the motor then you wont hear it when you turn the acc on and off. If its the mast more than likely you still have some of it left inside of the post like I had

I just used a Phillips head to pull the remainder of the mast up so I could grab it with the vise grips.
On a side note, I found the broken mast in the back of my truck just laying in the cargo area shortly after i purchased the rig lol.

Ok. Yeah I don't hear anything when my car goes to Acc. My motor is probably dead. Bummer.
