Today, Apple announced a significantly revamped line of iMac all-in-one desktop computers. The last iMac upgrade was just 7 months ago.
The new models have a host of new features:
• 21.5 inch and 27 inch LCD screens
…. 21.5 = 1920 x 1080 pixels, 27 = 2560 x 1440 pixels
…. The screens use IPS display technology, typically found on high-end monitors
…. The screens have a true 16:9 aspect ratio and LED backlighting
• Faster Intel Core 2 Duo and Core i5 Quad processors
…. An Intel Core i7 quad processor will be an option later
• Nvidia 9400M, AMD Radeon HD4670, and Radeon HD 4850 graphics
• 500 GB and 1 TB disc options
• four slots for RAM, for a maximum of 16GB
• slot for SD and SDHC flash memory cards
• New wireless Apple Magic Mouse replaces a button with a large touchpad that is sensitive to the movement of multiple fingers ("multitouch"), like the iPhone screen.
• Wireless keyboard. This model lacks a separate number keypad.
• Mini DisplayPort in the monitor allows you to attach external video devices, such as Blu-Ray player, cable TV receiver, game box.
