This week was the time for the tires, and also following the recomendación I remove the mud guards on the hub , it is thinking to low the disk temps, because whit theme on is quite hight in sumer
The tiré I bought when I build the camper were 365 85 and they are big and heavy, but I never pay atention until I get in my hands the 80's, the diference on weight is 30 kg and the rims in 10" are also some kg more than the 11" , in Hutchinson all of theme, for sure they are diferent rated about weight, much more strong the 10", the diference on the stering is big , no noise also whit the MPT81 contis , so big mistake I did whit the wheels ...now they are for sale ...tires and Rims

I fitted 365/85’s and it killed my acceleration and braking. I also think they are too heavy for our little portals. Went back to XZL 365/80’s and they handle like a dream. Expensive mistake. Try and balance them. I use stick on weights and then add a thick bead of Sika around them. Makes a big difference.

Yes...big mistake because also the 10" rims are a mistake for these trucks, I hope I would recover some money selling the old wheels , It was a big deal to found this rims here in Europe used...

Yes Ian , thats true, you can not imagine how easy is to change the tires , the Main job is to tite all the bolts, as you mention when we meet the weight diference is amazing
Now Im involved fiting the Acc machine , there is no way here in sumer to sleep in the night whitout Acc
I Will fit the evaporador in the Roof rak , and the condenser on the room, this machine is 900w 24 volts, The comsuption must to be 7.5 Amps/hour. I think it is ok to use it few hours, the truck can be like one ice cream truck......

It'll be interesting to see real world use on this, the lowest setting of 630W (7.5 amp 24v) is doable with a decent battery bank.

Its worth seeing it up and running a meter on it to see how much it does draw.

This was the Main reason to buy it wyuna, I dont know if is 100% true, but , by the numbers looks like it is like this, I Will plug anyway the amperímeter to see it, I read in some forums about this machine and many coments are positive, I Will confirm, thanks for the imputs

I learn a big leason whit the neumatic staff on the truck, about how important is the mantinance, my truck has not air dryer, and its catastrófic , do you not understsnd until you check this and that and all is a full of some Brown paste....combination of oil dust and water, so I bought a dryer from Atkinson to fit it , the joke whit the brakes last time was almost 1000 eur in parts plus my job and headache.

I have on of those, and it works great, I have no dirt or water in my air tanks. I run a "wet tank" in front of that, to make it last longer. makes my system a bit complex, but if it lasts longer then it is worth it. This is what it used to look like before I moved all my air tanks around to make space for the storage box. The big valve on the bottom is an automatic purge - when the water gets to cover the valve, it purges the tank. As this is all before the pressure regulator/filter dryer, means that when the regulator goes into free wheel mode, this tank discharges, makes for quite a loud noise when the thing reaches pressure if I don't have the silencer one it

When I opened up my air system after I first bought the truck, I was amazed it still worked, there was thick sludge in the lines and tanks. 30 years of crud! Anyone who buys an old Mog needs to open up the lines and air tanks and have a look, if there is sludge, then you are better off replacing everything in the system, esepecially if you are going to remote areas.

Just arrived at home from a fantastic weekend on Teruel Área, all the last services on the truck tested and all ok , 520 km , 91 litres of diesel, after hard summer is time now to use and start to plan the Morocco trip for December

Awesome. I'm glad all your newest truck modifications worked. Do you still have your front axle oil tanks installed?

That's about 13.44 miles/gallon. Thanks for sharing those numbers.
