Yeah . . . thanks for posting that. And I'll have high praise for anyone who can post up whether it actually works well.

interesting
much like the Coleman one which I have and love and have also had good luck with ?
might get a new battery for mine and keep on hand

I know the coleman can recharge off 12 volt which is nice ?

but this looks pretty cool and a bit smaller ? if mind dies this might be worth a try ?

Besides cooking, which one could use fire to boil water. Why have a hot water heater?
Cold showers are good for you..

Probably made by the same australian company but for the north america market, looks really similar to me: http://www.companionleisure.com.au/index.php?p=line&sid=1278983950

Besides Cabela's, anyone know who might have one of these units in stock in Northern California or Nevada?

Cabela's in Reno doesn't stock it. It actually looks like it's brand new, so I would be surprised if anyone has one on a shelf yet. Anyhow, heading to the desert on Wednesday and would pick one of these up in a heartbeat if I could find someone to sell me one.

Bringing this thread back to life. I ordered one of these today and will post pics and general impressions for you guys in a week or so (currently out of town).

Not much info out there besides the youtube vids of the aqua cube which it seems to be, except a bit more industrial looking for our market or how mr. heater wanted it to look.

I was not to thrilled with the overly complex ways to heat water out there (albeit this method is certainly not simple). It seems buttoned up though and fairly compact for road use.

You guys have really shed light on a myriad of devices and gadgets for me so it is the least I can do :)

In looking for more info I came across this Mr. Buddy unit.....but its not on their web site....

That is interesting. Although not the same unit. I believe it is an "Aqua cube" as found in Australia but licensed to Mr>heater for sale in the US.

The only reservations I have about the unit is its complexity. Digital readouts and digital controls = limited service life in my experience. But I would love to be proven wrong.

I will be taking it on a month and a half long trip off road so it will certainly be put to the test.

a quick question for you about the colemen, when water flow stops, does the flame extinguish , and reignite when water resume? thanks,
