Appreciate the response and the photo. Trying to decide if I go with a remote head radio on my Ram or not. It's a 1500, but a Tradesman trim and the console is extremely similar.

Went out to mojave yesterday and beat on it. Almost flipped it a couple times. Getting a revalve and more travel soon. Ran 50-65mph through a 110 mile section of the mojave rd.

Airing down at afton canyon.

Whats next?
Shock revalve
Regear to 4.30
Mid flaps to protect my rear shocks.
Find a new co2 bottle mount soution
Build/buy a front and rear bumper.

It sounds like a full roll cage and an automatic fire extinguisher system would be a good idea.:sombrero:
Please explain the shock revalve,as I don't know anything about higher end stuff like you have.
I am also interested to see what you do about bumpers as I am looking too.Right now I am thinking Buckstop or ARB for the front. It seems like the ARB mounts the lights further back on the horizontal bar,I like that,I also like how the Buckstop mounts lights in cutouts on the bumper.I have been waiting for AEV to get their rear bumper with tire carrier to market, their stuff seems to take years to make.:violent-smiley-031:
Looks like you had some fun out there.

Shock revalve: you can change how big of a hit your shocks can absorb and convert to heat by changing the stack of shims above and below the piston. This allows it to dampen a larger or softer amount of force and return it to the same equilibrium force depending on the shim stack.

Google "shock valving 101" as I'm sure my description is confusing. Basically, you can take the shock apart and adjust how the truck rides, in order to let you go faster, through rougher terrain.

If I buy as opposed to build bumpers, I'll be getting a thuren front and rear bumpers.

Out here the rear bumper design is different and sticks out a lot, because it needs to be able to take the hit from fast race trucks if they need to push you out of the way, called "nerfing"

My vote is for "buying" the Thuren bumpers, as you have to build (weld) them anyways! Love the look of his bumpers, unfortunately I don't have a 4th gen to put them on.

Trophy, your truck is sick.

This thread has provoked a ton of inspiration for my new rig! Question for you, suspension setup? I will not be pushing my truck to levels in which you are, which has me torn on which Thuren or Carli kit to go with. It is my DD and family Expo rig, but with small children it doesn't get ragged on. I want a capable, comfortable setup. Also with your delete, suspension and 37 what kind of MPG are you getting?

Anyway man, I really have enjoyed this build thread!

I'll chime in here as I have experience daily driving the Thuren setup.. I have the 2" springs on a CTD 2nd gen (3.0" lift), with Thuren Fox 2.0 shocks.. and it rides very smoothly across highway separators, potholes, road grooves, and especially well on forest services roads and bumpy road at speed. Don nailed the high and low speed compression for the shocks as it corners very stable on the road and is exceptionally plush on small and medium bumps anywhere above maybe 20km/h. Even with my 35" tires at 45-50psi in the front for the road, the small bump sensitivity leaves nothing to be desired, so I would 100% recommend Thuren. I have no experience with Carli, but I am inclined to continue supporting a smaller operation like Don's over a more popular go-to like Carli.

Thanks for the kind words.

I have had both thuren and Carli parts. The shop I work for actually installs a lot of Carli kits.

For the radius arm equipped ram trucks:
I will say that Carli kits are very comprehensive and is a good middle ground between full blown performance and a lift kit. Carli kits are more expensive than thuren kits because they're designed around keeping stock geometries and thus require more bracketry.

The nice thing about Carli kits is that they're always in stock, customer service at Carli is very good, and the parts are built very well. I have nothing but good things to say about Carli.

Now, don thuren: thuren is a two man operation, it's very small business, but it's run exceptionally well and don thuren is a madman/mastermind. People can't believe the comfort in my truck when they ride in it.

There's been updates to this my build not included in this thread, one of them being that I revalved my truck to a custom shock tune around stage 6(racing type off road speeds, jumping, skipping across whoops, 65-75mph hitting 1 foot deep whoops.) this valving profile is supposed to have the worst street ride...

It's still so damn comfortable. I daily drive my truck, and beat the hell out of it in the desert on the weekend.

Buy thuren parts, get at least a king 2.5" shock package, and tell don exactly what you're looking for and he will make you happy. I've taken my 60 year old parents/aunts/uncles trail running in my truck without a single complaint about the ride over 12" boulders.

If you can afford the full suspension setup, I recommend the following.

Front thuren springs
Front thuren or Carli track bar (I have Carli)
King 2.5 shocks with your choice of valving
Thuren sway bar if you don't tow or haul a camper

Rear thuren track bar (THIS IS A MUST! Best part made for the new dodges, better than the Carli track bar drop)
Rear thuren springs/endlinks
King 2.5s.

If you want a basic setup to fit 37s and drive trails slowly only (5-15mph)
Thuren or Carli track bar
Thuren front springs
Thuren front fox 2.0 shocks or thuren overland front/rear shock package
Thuren rear trackbar

If you want to buy a Carli kit:
Carli kit with shocks of your choice
Thuren rear track bar instead of Carli track bar drop.

With any of these kits, if you want to clear a 37" tire you'll need a +15 to +20 offset wheel.

My truck gets about 15mpg combined, 20mpg highway.

It's softer than stock so it doesn't control sway as much as a stock bar. But it makes the suspension feel a ton nicer. Even just entering driveways is better. Don says as long as the weight is below the bed rail you're okay. 5th wheels or campers are the issue

Awesome thread, i thoroughly enjoyed the pictures. I have the same truck just a 2013 2500 with the old style suspension. I love everything from Don. I have his trackbar, front coils, swaybar, and carli 1/2" longer control arms. I went with Dons valved fox 2.0s since my truck doesnt see much offroading. They do provide an awesome ride on the road. I've bombed down some pretty nasty roads and they have held up nicely. I just need some Carli Deavers for the rear to complete the suspension. Looking at your truck makes me wish i went with 37s not 35s. I do tow a12k boat so 35s might be it until i regear. Keep up with the pictures of your adventures, We all like our pictures lol
