Are you not gonna do a gear swap? I've heard of people having transmission problems with bigger tires and being deleted. Some of the aftermarket 68RFE transmission places won't warranty their stuff if you don't gear change and have anything over 35's. Just my 2 cents. Love the truck. I have a 2014 CC Ram Cummins 3500 4x4 with 295/70/18's Nitto Trail Grapplers and 68RFE. Completely amazed at the places I've taken this and made it through.

How long you planning to sit in one place? My tablet runs 9hrs of use about, maybe 6 watching movies, and charging it off the factory charging system has pretty low impact. My point being, you shouldn't need anything extra. Unless you plan to sit over a week without starting your truck once. Either way, I vote power pack. More versatile, less cost, less space.

No more than two nights in one spot. My tablet stays plugged in all the time when driving because I use it for LeadNav. I want it to run an led rope light in the RTT, and charge our phones during the night, thats about it. I have dual group 65 odyssey batteries in my truck.

You're talking about revmax, who I wouldnt use for a trans anyway. They void your trans warranty if you dont use their tuning. I'll be going with a suncoast eventually, and they dont care what size tire youre running, I know of one truck with a suncoast trans on 46's.

I dont really see a need to regear at this point. Truck drives great. I'm only about 300 rpm lower than stock on the highway at 80. If I do regear, it will be 4.10s.

Started cutting plates out for my chase/spare tire rack today. I was going to use tubing, I got lazy and drew one in solidworks.

Configuration will be spares on the outside, mounts for fuel jugs and co2 bottle and an aluminum floor jack in the middle. Model doesnt show it in its completed form, just the pieces I needed to waterjet.

Any chance you could post some photos of how you trimmed the front wheel well liners?

The liners are not trimmed, just pushed back. The pinch weld was trimmed with a plasma cutter, and I dont have any pics unfortunately.

Chase rack tacked together today. Will test for bed fitment tomorrow and if it's okay, I'll start burning some filler into it.

I kinda hate people that have the resources to take an idea and turn it into a reality. If I meet you...i'm gonna kick you in the shins and run away.

Perks of working in a fabrication shop :)

I'm jealous. I have all of the CAD experience and software (thanks to my work), but none of the fabrication facilities like you.

Your chase rack looks great- looking forward to pics of it on the truck.

Yeah, the idea is to duplicate the stock power curve and rpm's.

Hi!

As far as my build, just trying to get some things out of my head and on paper(or build thread in this case):
To-do list

King 2.5s
Rear thuren coils and sway bar end links
Front torsion sway bar
"Overland" rack/bed cage with two stand up spares.
Smittybilt or tepui RTT
Flat floor behind seats with tie downs
Bed organization
Rigid industries scene lighting for camp
Arb 2000 awning

All in the next 7 weeks before Moab.

If time permits:
Custom front bumper using patton fabrication frame horns.

Trying to stay organized:

King 2.5s - ordered (praying King will deliver before trip)

Thuren suspension goodies - ordered but not yet received

Overland rack - metal was delivered to the shop on Friday

RTT - smittybilt RTT ordered last Friday, will be delivered tomorrow.

Flat floor - idea has been ditched, friends are joining us on the next trip

Bed organization - completed yesterday

Scene lights - delivered today. Got $9 Amazon specials

Awning - idea is currently back burners, girlfriend got on me about spending so much money when we have a perfectly good Ez up lol

Other things which have come up:

I've decided to add an isolated battery setup. My girlfriend has trouble sleeping without a fan on, so I ordered one of these.

To power it, I'm planning on two odyssey pc1200s (I have two available to me for free) mounted to the frame rail. Going to use a solenoid to isolate them from the two starting batteries when the truck is off.

I'm then going to use molex 2 pin connectors to bring the power into the tent for the fan and a usb hub to charge our stuff.

Can anyone recommend me an economic solar setup to keep the batteries topped off?

Please detail the battery frame rail mod, is there anything in the space where the stock spare is/was?

Will do.

I thought of that, problem is the crossmember there is welded to the frame, and would have to be reworked in order to keep the batteries high enough.

We'll see where I go with it. Probably won't be till about Wednesday though. Girlfriend is out of town on work, so I have to take care of her pup after work instead of working on the truck.

Cool, looking forward to it when you have the time.
I would like to get my battery out of the shell and on the frame, every little bit of room helps with a short bed.
