Nobody is going to rant about a computer overriding driver input? Geez. I think the computer can waste brakes faster than I can.....especially when its snowy and slick.
I like the interior comfort of new better, but all the other stuff I have to get that I don’t want really kills it for me. $ for $ I think the older stuff is better and cheaper. The aftermarket has solved all the issues I’ve had with older vehicles, and the newer ones just keep creating them.

Nope, not really ranting about "wasting brakes", as it improves performance. Brake pads aren't that expensive or difficult to swap.

But yes, older stuff is cheaper.

I don't think that if you want the cheapest deal around you should look at LR. I don't even know when that was even a choice if you wanted the cheapest around.

If airbags are so wonderful, then why do professional crashers prefer a roll cage?

Because they have harnesses, helmets, and H.A.N.S. devices keeping their head in place?

If my 12v needs no wires to run, then why does my new 6.7 have so many wires ?

Your 12v system is wireless?

If I can’t reach over and turn on my lights, should I really be driving?

If you can walk or ride a bicycle, should you really be driving?

What’s LR?
I do agree that newer vehicles are easier to replace most components. But always more expensive.
I bought new wipers yesterday. $4.50 each for the K5 and $24 for the newer Ram

Land Rover.

Well, still not expensive in the grand scheme of things. Silicone wiper blades if you can find them are even better than the old types (don't know what RAM uses).

That’s probably my biggest rant.....that we have lost the power of choice. I’d like the good motor without the navigation and sunroof. Sorry.

Ah, I see. Not "Volts", lol. Okay. You still need wires to the ignition key, plugs, headlights, brake lights, switch for the brakes, interior lights etc.

In any case, if we are at a stage where strands of copper conducting current means "complexity", the bike or walking seems like the only option. Just don't ride the bike at night, as you'll need lights.

Would you prefer that roll cage, a 6-point harness, a helmet and a hans-device? Remember, you can't turn your head much in those.

There are necessary and unnecessary circuits. Simplicity creates reliability just based on the number of possible components that will fail.
Plugs on a Cummins? You lost me there.
