yeah seems to be nice especially if it has dual card slots

if it comes out at that price range I think they will have a hit on their hands :)

guess we will find out in Sep ;) will be fun to see all the new stuff

guess someone else who saw one ? said they are quite small though more like the entry level models :(

Small sounds like a good thing for me at least. I played with a D800, and besides being too expensive and too large of files to handle in the field, I'm none too sure I want that large of a frame to lug around everywhere. My D300 is quite heavy enough after 8 or 10hrs around me neck!

yeah small can be nice :) for small I like M4/3 stuff
I can say I hate carrying my pro gear around unless I am working !!!! for daily and only shoot M4/3 these days for my fun stuff

$2100 though ?

Pro site I am on most are not stoked to many holes for pro use but lots of nice features for most folks so should be a great camera :)

Way to go Nikon! They seem to be pushing all the right buttons lately .....as far as tools for the landscape/nature enthusiast.

Should be good, but I'm still thinking about picking up a used D700. Would be an easy transition from my D300 (which is starting to get long in the tooth). Hopefully this will push down the price of the D700!

Looks like a really cool camera and one my wife and I would have bought if we already hadn't ponied up for the D800. These new full frame cameras are pretty incredible. Lately we've tasked with shooting lots of pics in horrible light, and we've been blown away with the high ISO performance. Nikon seems to be on a roll.

I heard they may come out with a 16mm or 18mm f/1.8 AF-S prime, something I want badly. [Nevermind, this appears to be for the "1" system only]
