No More Carbs for me!

No, not in my diet (though I'm sure my doctor would prefer that I did) but in my vehicles:

I've ridden motorcycles since 1982 and almost always had one in the garage or carport or storage unit (when I was in an apartment.) Got rid of my Triumph Scrambler in early December - that was an '08 model which was the last year of the carb'd engines, and last week I replaced it with a 2002 BMW R1150R: My first fuel injected bike.

We've had some warm days recently so I was able to take it out for a ride and I have to say: WOW! What a bike!

Not only my first EFI bike, but also my first bike with ABS and power brakes. Amazing technology, though a little scary to think what it might cost if something goes wrong...my Scrambler was stone-ax simple in most respects.

It does have a very 'sporty' riding position, which keeps my knees pretty bent, and that will take some getting used to. But other than that, it's great. Looking forward to putting some serious miles on this bike!
