OBX trip....

Thought I'd post a few pics of my trip to the Outer Banks of NC. What a beautiful place! We took a ferry to the South Core Banks, Cape Lookout. Not much there but some cabins & some fisherman! I didn't see anyone else camping on the beach, it was our own little piece of paradise. The wind was whipping pretty good at night, but the weather was perfect IMO. No bugs, good times!!

I'm halfway through an interior re design. I planned to have it done before this trip, but I've been too busy. I'll be sure to post pics as soon as it's done. ---

Hey that campsite looks veryyyy familiar.....

Glad you guys had a great time. Your SMB looks very post-apocalyptic on the beach all by itself.

We stayed closer to the Lighthouse on the 1st night, and the wind was nuts. The site in the pic is just south of ramp 27.

btw... not a SMB!! (I wish)

Nice pics

Looks good.

I sea kayak camped The Outer Banks 20 years ago. Great area, indeed. Camped on an island with wild ponies (the island name escapes me at the moment). Saw tons of dolphins, a few little 3' nurse sharks, and a couple of tortoises the size of a VW Beetle. The warm water was fantastic.

Thanks for the pics.

Glad you had a good time. Thanks for the pics....that is currently one of my mostest favoritest places to camp....even when the weather is not the bestest. You're on an island with so few people around it feels like it's all yours!

OH! Wait! I mean it's crowded there and horrible! I'm recommending no one ever go there again!

yes, a truly terrible place to camp..... eh eh.......

And since we all enjoy gross dead things, here's what I saw----

We will be spending a week on the North Core Island at the end of July.

Any advice on fishing? The last time we went I caught a small something that the seagulls ate. Seeing your pic's got the kids excited!!

I am planning a trip to the Core Banks this summer sometime too. How was the sand out there? I know farther North it can get really deep. Did you have any trouble? How far up the island were you able to go? I'll be solo in an FJ60 with 31" ATs. You think I'll run into much trouble?

I can't comment on fishing because I don't. I think I was the only non fisherman on the island, thats for sure!

The sand wasn't bad, the LC will be fine. Just air down and go for it. I took it easy on the beach, but other guys were haulin tail.
