Well honestly it's a lot of fun. I've tried one of those and you can play with them in your backyard and it's 10 times cheaper to fix than a truck.

Definitely cheaper than the real thing but I've read that it's by no means a cheap hobby and can add up quick. I plan to pick one up early next year.
