Offroad capability of full size truck

Your description of your non pavement type use makes me think nearly stock sized tires would be fine. Why destroy highway performance and mileage with over kill tires? I get that jeeps need 37’s for starbucks and dirt roads to popular trail heads. But full sized trucks do more challenging stuff on stock tires every day😆👍

What about some of the "Heavy Half Ton" PU's built in the early/mid 2000's such as the GM 1500HD and Dodge Ram 1500 Megacab?

3/4 ton axles/suspension with 1/2 ton springs for a softer ride.

After all 37's might actually fit satisfying your need for Big Man bits!

True but then you are talking about starting off with a 20 year old vehicle. Unless you do all those same mods with a modern vehicle and that's money, or time or both.

Personally I have a GMC Sierra 1500, but for this, I do agree a 2500 gasser is the most likely answer. Agree Dodge RAM PowerWagon is really good start, or that build sheet someone posted of the brown 250 Ford. I like the K2 versions of the GMC as the body of the 1500 and the 2500 is the same, but that's just me.

I was 57 and she was 41, that was just fine, but when I was 27, she could have called me a pedophile and that's an awfully big word for an eleven-year-old. So, to your point of view, I grew up slowly and grew old quickly, my first new pick up was a '99 F 150, wearing KO2's, 25 years old and it still rolls. Now, back to my tea party.

Well I was more thinking in terms of perspective. As in a 75 year old guy would say being only 41 is still young.

I'd love to see what manufacturers could do if the goal was to build a simple, inexpensive, reliable, long-lived truck without regulations....
