Sorry about that, we actually had a few changes and the new awnings are 79" versus the older 70" models. I just had our web guy update that on the site.

The awning will sit flush with the top of the pioneer roof rack system from Rhino Rack. Feel free to p'm me and I will get you set up with the hardware for the rack to awning connection.

Thanks for the update. I'll be in touch this week to place an order.

We fit our Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with an Alu Cab Expedition III RTT and Shadow Awning to do some R & D. First impressions, we are very happy with the fitment on the JKU roof and how the tent stays within the dimensions of the hard top. We were also impressed with the Shadow Awning coverage on the JKU, it spans from the front driver door past the tailgate fully ajar!

Another notable feature is the Expedition III tent mounts directly to two Rhino Rack HD cross bars, eliminating the need of a platform and saving overall weight. Also the Shadow Awning can mount directly to the Expedition III tent, eliminating various mounts needed for different racks.

Strange timing, I was just going to ask about the Shadow on the Rhino/AEV rack you have. I know you have the awning mounted to the RTT in these pics. I currently have the Rhino Rack with Foxwing awning. Do you think the rack and hardtop are strong enough to support the unsupported weight/style of the Shadow Awning?

Is the Alu Cab available in black as well or just silver. Black would blend very well with the factory hardtop.

Really like the coverage this awning provides in comparison to the bat wing. That is really sweet, and would be awesome with netting to keep out the bugs.

The hardtop yes, the pioneer platform however is questionable. We are working on developing a brace / mount to support the great load generated by the Shadow Awning. We should know more in the coming months and with the popularity of the Rhino Rack systems I cannot see them skipping that system.

Our first order only consisted of silver, but this May they will be arriving in black

I'm glad you can see the difference, it is hard to describe how much more useful the square design is to people who have not struggled with the others! Having total tailgate coverage without an angled awning makes a big difference in foul weather

Any word on the Shadow Awning + Rhino Rack bracket in the works? I'm looking to sell my Foxwing and get the Shadow.

Prototype mounts are coming with Jeremy form AluCab when he meets us at Expo West. I will be installing them and doing some R&D before we release them, but I would say July would be a safe ETA. Are you planning on attending Expo West?

Great build so far and I have been following your updates on Instagram as well. I just ordered a set of OME lower control arms from OK4WD yesterday and dealt with Ken. Great guy and customer service :safari-rig:

No sir, won't be there this year but have been a few times in the past. I'll patiently wait until July, because I have to, and get my order in when those brackets come out. Thanks for the reply as always.
