I put OME Dakar under my 07 Tacoma and have no complaints and iam mpressed with the ride improvement both loaded and unloaded, off or on road. I had OME on my 99 Trooper and the improvement made it a different vehicle, a much better,:wings: more capable vehicle. ARB has my vote and my business.

I have Dakars in the back of my '86 Runner and they're not bad. Not very flexy, as has been mentioned, and when I installed them there was a significant rake, but with a load of camping gear the ride is great and the rear doesn't sag at all. A few times of that and they broke in pretty well. I got mine from Slee - they're not on the website and they don't stock them normally, but if you can wait until they make an OME order you'll save a ton on shipping. Get the bushing kits and grease the living hell out of them, too.

.... ARB will make it right even if their distributor doesn't... read some reviews of rocky road's customer service before you buy from them.... as you should for every supplier, just to be fair!

I believe there are entire forums devoted to bashing RRO.

WOW! you're not kidding there is some bad reviews out there. From the reviews i've read it seams like if they have parts in stock they'll ship quickly if not, good luck as their parts ordering doesn't seam up to par.

I put in an email to slee and see how long their wait time will be. I'd like to deal with someone local to avoid shipping, and should anything go wrong have someone to talk to in person.

Not sure what part of CO you are in, but Hugh at Safari Ltd usually has OME in stock.

OME's are a great product. A lot of rover guys run them on their trucks. I had them on my old DI. They make many different spring rates for all sorts of different applications.

mine are great but stiff, on the raod is perfect, little stiff with no weight in it off road. i have mediums iirc. with lots of weight they are great. i got the heavier springs for future bumpers. its a 03 4runner, so its coils

HI i can only speak for the ozzy market, OME have great coil springs, made by king springs in Australia, but there leaf springs have a poor reputation probably made in india or malaysia like most others, there shocks are average quality, koni and bilstein are the top choice in OZ.

I wheel with funrover and his RRC often, he had the 2" OME HD's on his rover for a while. He beat the crap out of that lift for 3-4 years without any problems. And that included a run up holy cross here in CO, which shall we say "tested" that truck :coffeedrink:

I've already got 5100's on all 4 corners so I won't need the OME shocks, just the springs. i'm leaning towards the light ones in the front, and not sure about the rear. I tend to carry quite a bit of stuff when i go out, but also planning on getting a softtop which will eliminate a lot of weight. Thinking i may go with the light and add a stiffer overload if necessary.

Right now safari LTD is looking like my #2 choice since they are on the opposite side of the state, and if they don't have anything i'll give cruiseroutfitters a call they have also been recommended to me.

So enlighten us! Were you running OME springs? How exactly did they fail, and how was the truck set up?
