Sorry for the delayed update. Death in the family and resulting financial issues have put me in a tight spot.
Finally got a proper subframe built. 1/4 in tubing is thicker and heavier than I thought!


MUCH better with the overhang supported and box sufficiently mounted.

Just removed my rear window, cut the pass through, sealing with salvaged rubber from inside the box as soon as I can get to Home Depot after work for some sikaflex or construction glue of some sort.
