Update:

There was a low mileage, garage kept, 1989 FJ62 in the local Toyota dealer for C4C and the parts guy is a buddy of mine and arranged for me get some parts off it before it went off to it's next life.

We got the front seats, seat belts, console, the rear shoulder belts and associated trim pieces, light assemblies, wiper arms, plastic exterior vents and a few other things that I have to put on/in it.

I also have now accumulated all the parts to do the suspension, so this weekend is "FJ62 Weekend".

Don't change that channel.

Front springs are on, old rears are off, and I could not have done this without Fergie's help. The frame spring pins were a royal PITA!!!! I have done lifts before on other leaf sprung Land Cruisers and this was, by far, the hardest one.

We had my air hammer, my 3ft pry bar and my 3lb mini sledge working overtime. And this is without any rust!!! I really applaud you guys in the rust belt.

I should have this wrapped up by noon tomorrow. Then the photos...

The shocks aren't in yet, so I have only driven it around the block a few times. Bouncy. They should arrive Wednesday.

Next weekend is Big Birfield Weekend!!!! Rebuilding the birfs on this and Fergie's 80. Hopefully we'll have them wrapped up by Sunday, so I can do a shakedown on Broken Arrow.

I come in Peace
Thanks.

What level tint did you go with? Is it rough at night?

As far as I know the tint on my FJ62 is from the factory. It's all beat to heck with scratches and nicks.

I am totally used to it and don't even notice it. In the beginning (way back in 2001) when I first got it I did sort of trip out on it a little. It's really not a problem at night.

Fergie and I did the birf repack on it this weekend after we wrapped up the birf job on his 80.

Here it is all cleaned up and ready for a trip to the Outback....
