Our long way round.

Well, we went from Flagstaff to Sedona the long way. It was nice to put some faces to the names.



Big thanks to Mark. We couldn't have made it without him:bowdown: He knows those trails like the back of his hand.

My carnage was a flat tire and a broken steering column cover that completely shook apart on the washboard after taking a previous hit from my knee a few months ago. Off to Discount Tire and a call to my Toyota parts guy tomorrow.

I had a good time. Got to see some stuff I hadn't ever seen. And Mark's tourguidin' is invaluable.
It was a good formula. Small # of rigs. Lots of off pavement. And a couple of beers by the campfire.

Thank to everyone for sticking with me - I don't usually travel that fast, but we had a long way to go. We didn't get much sight seeing in, but we sure covered a lot of ground, and those of you that left from Flag had already done a good chunk before I met ya at the canyon! Now that you've been there, you know there is a lot to see and explore up there.

I only took a couple pic's, and will post'm up this evening. On the way back to Chino Valley there was a Golden Eagle sitting a 100 yards or so off the road feeding on it's kill. Also saw a nice Antelope buck down in the flats.

And, this was the first rough country walking I've done with my new knee! I was very pleased to have a stable knee while traversing the rocks on Smiley Rock. That's the first time in 23 YEARS! WOOHOO!!!

Any plans to run it again in the near future. I owe some rocks in Martin Canyon some payback for damaging the buds. Plus, I still have two days of vacation to burn.
