Next minor upgrade to the truck...Towing Mirrors.

The stock mirrors are to small in my opinion and marginal with the camper installed. I ordered a set of factory Toyota tow mirrors, they have both power and heat along with a built in blind spot mirror. These should do the trick :)

Installation was quick...about 10 min per side.

New mirrors fresh out of the package and waiting to be installed.

Was the wire harness there? Looks nice

yep the factory mirrors were power and the connection is already there for the new units including the wiring for the lights. As simple as unplugging the stock unit and plugging back into the new mirrors :)

A note on the mirrors, did a little research with Toyota prior to installing the same on my tundra. They have a tendency to loosen and rattle. Recommended thread lock and to check periodically. Boy those things are expensive, but you can't beat a factory part in this application.

Next up....install a 46 gallon Transfer Flow fuel tank. Should give a 600 mile range....exactly what the factory should have installed in the first place. This will make traveling a lot nicer with the camper installed.

Installing the tank is a pretty easy process, it takes about 3hrs to do yourself without a proper lift. To get the needed clearance to remove/install the tanks we jacked the rear of the truck up and placed the rear wheels on blocks. A couple floor jacks are necessary for lifting the truck and dropping/installing the tanks, only basic hand tools are needed beyond that. Instructions are pretty complete and were easy to follow. We rolled on a layer of truck bed liner along the bottom portion of the tank for extra rock chip protection.

Picture of the stock 26 Gallon tank next to the Transfer Flow 46 gallon unit. The TF tank is built very nice, fit and finish is top notch.

Getting ready to install the new tank. Placing the tank on a creeper allows you to move the TF easily.

And installed. No loss of ground clearance with this tank, Nice!

Looks like you have a great setup for exploring with your family. The church looks like the one along 395 in Oregon.

Love 395. Little traffic, USFS roads to boondock on and historic structures. Hope you all have some wonderful adventures with your new set up.

Yeah, nice tank. The Tundra's are pretty thirsty and I don't know what Toyota(and other brands) was thinking supplying a small gas tank. That and P-rated tires as all 1/2 tons come with. Nice setup.
