Overland Explorer Composite Off Road Trailer

Fantastic build. I really love the frame. Kind of what I have in mind for my teardrop build. I have been playing with sketchup on my frame.

I love this design! I'm new at this, so forgive the noob question. I couldn't tell from your earlier photos of the frame, but is this axeled, or independent suspension?

Timbren "axle-less" independant suspension:

If I could make one suggestion it would be do do something different on the fenders and steps.

It would also be cool to see a model that had wider walls that sat on the fender wells. Part of the fender well would have to be in the cabin, but it would give more interior room. Just some thoughts.

overall I love it!

That's what I was asking about - why not use the width of the frame to increase usable interior?

On the fenders I would lose the diamond plate. It looks cheap IMHO.

I would do some round tubing. Have it curve inwards toward the main frame from the fender.

For example say the fender is 12" wide have the steps connect to the outside corner. Then Curve in to where it is around 8" wide. If you wanted to get fancy put a panel on the tubing with a lazer cut logo or use dimple dies.

Thanks for the comments SB....

We felt like the diamond plate was not the best choice either but this is what building a prototype in 3 weeks is all about. We think you have some good thoughts that we will look at more closely after we return from the Expo!
