Bumping this to the top because this thread is a huge inspiration and deserves to not die.
I would love to see an update! I'm also very curious to know how you have been using the rig over the last couple years now that you moved away from the RTT. Transitioned fully to sleeping inside? Ground tenting?
I have always slept on the ground like a peasant, but I do dream of doing a pop-top conversion on my XJ. Maybe someday.
