So I think I have a plan with the front end. I'm going to keep it 1/2 ton 6 lug, Dana 44 driver drop.....I've been doing some research and found a Tahoe that has a 94-01 dodge 1500 front axle (5 lug I know), what's cool about this axle is that its the correct side diff, correct width, the Chevy 6 lug unit bearings will drop in place of the dodge unit bearings, the axle spline is correct for the Chevy unit bearings (and speed sensor) can be put in place with radius arms, can keep my steering box, dodge caliper will work with Chevy rotor.
the not so cool is I will have to change gear ratio's as there is no corresponding gear ratio between dodge and chevy…..
1500 dodge front axles come in 3.55:1 and 4.09:1
1500 suburban 3.73:1 and 4.10:1
If I can find a 4.09 dodge front and 4.10 suburban rear they would work together
Drive shaft will need to be made.
