there are keepers on the stub shaft the driver side you can pull with a slide hammer but the passenger side you have to take the housing apart to pull that keeper... but it ejected the drivers stub shaft with the cv still connected that is what was weird and after I reinserted it I couldn't pull it back out. I had the front end tore down before to replace the axle bearing but it appears the driver side is gone again. I will tear it down just so I know what actually happened....so thankful it wasn't in the t-case. Post 121 is where I replace the bearings and seals.I may be wrong but if I remember right you have to have the front cv stub shaft in the hub bearing to keep it from coming apart .
