I actually got in the woods on some trails an had to use 4wd everything worked like it was supposed too. I will have a video up on it Friday

Took a drive to Land Between The Lakes on Good Friday. It seems my instagram handle is appropriate as I always seem to find water. I only ran a couple of gravel road roads down to the lake and somehow knocked my steering wheel a 1/4 turn off. I didn’t find any pulled threads on the steering links but did find my pitman arm nut a little loose, not finger loose but definitely not tight D9D70B8E-3624-4862-B142-2892BF71D5C7.jpegDE8D7C70-BA40-4574-BCF0-3DE6604A6935.jpeg3B5E9B96-8DE2-4894-9A35-05AF17B0E370.jpeg30B1357B-BB9B-481C-BC07-1139FAFD9413.jpegC2D5461C-D4EE-4BF3-92DC-65A592B7FE74.jpeg

So after more searching I found the
Track bar is bent. Now let me explain how it happened. While at LBL I pulled into one camp spot right on the lake and while leaving I drove past another camp spot and decided to back down to it, backing down the lake shore I was already on a pretty good lean with the passenger side lower and somehow I not only didn’t see a a washout but also missed it with the rear tire and when the front dropped off in the washout it was kind of harsh. I was at such a steep incline that when the front dropped off everything in the cup holder was thrown against the passenger side door in my wife’s lap. Now she was already nervous and upset because she is scared of rolling over and of water and both of those things were involved. I will post pictures when I get it out and can compare with my new solid track bar.E40FCFFE-BF02-4BCC-B958-C02F4D5B599B.jpeg

New track bar is welded together and on. Steering realigned. And I thought I was actually going to be able to drive it to MOORE23 but the bottom end knock is louder than before I did all oil change so I guess I will drain new oil and pull the oil pan.

And if you don’t mind swing by and check out my YouTube page for more info on the new track bar.

Pan pulled. I’m amazed at how good everything looks in the engine. I’ve not pulled the bearings caps yet but the cylinder walls look good and cam lobes look good too. IMG_5040.jpegIMG_5041.jpegIMG_5042.jpegIMG_5043.jpegIMG_5045.jpegIMG_5046.jpegIMG_5047.jpeg

So I once thought I had some loud and strange sounding valve chatter. Where I thought it might be rod knock. Turns out 2 exhaust manifold bolts let loose. Just an anecdotal story of my 08 2500 sub...

I’ve only had time to pull two rod caps and they both look brand new with 185k on them. If it’s not a rod bearing. I guess the next thing will be to check the flywheel for cracks.

I spent a little time out at the air base and after that I pulled the rod caps off and they all still look brand new with 186k on it I didn’t see any cracks in the flywheel, and the crank shaft was on the tight side of the acceptable range so I’m happy with buttoning the bottom end back up. But was hoping the knock was a rod bearing that would have been too easyIMG_5200.jpeg
