OVRLND Camper - crolison’s build

Due to going with the propane heater I opted to use my 10lb propane tank vs the 5lb’r

I changed mounts today, and fabricated a regulator mount and have the propane line routed to the inside of the camper with an on/off valve

Looks good, but please swap that valve out for the correct flammable gas valve.

Handle should be yellow.... blue is for non-flammable.

I have the right valve ordered along with some other fittings to finish the gas line and get the second hose custom length crimped.

Worked a little more today on the propex heater. Got to run it for the first time too. Electrical, propane, exhaust, intake, and propane alarm are all done. Also added a little insulation before I finished the mounting .

Just need to do venting and CO alarm.

Finished picture of the thermostat / controls. Also worked on some new Yakima bar roof rack mounts for the tracks on the roof.

Worked on the heater some more today. Made some vent brackets for the upstairs vent, and made a temporary heater inlet with some scrap I had laying around.

Now I can start working on the fridge slide and getting that perfect and nicely tucked in.

Small work, bigger step today. Installed the passenger side floor tie downs for the cabinetry / fridge slide. Hoping to have some time after work and get the fridge slide skeleton done this week.

Couple of questions for 'ya. Looks like you are bolting right down through the bed floor correct for the aluminum track? How are you planning to seal up the tailgate and rear door of the OvrLnd?

I'm eyeing this build as I've been kicking around the idea of various shell options from FWC, Phoenix and hallmark for my '16 Power Wagon. I'm from Flagstaff and live in Scottsdale, so the proximity of the mfg and seeming flexibility is intriguing. What made you go this route vs. the brands I listed. (and maybe AT too)

The aluminum rail is both bolt through and i am using riv nuts through the bed too to attach the rail and other accessories / mounts to the bed. The tailgate door, i'll probaby get a tailgate seal off of amazon, and have thought of going with converting the whole rear door is one piece. That would allow me to build a sub frame to seal to.

Well i would love to have a FWC, but one of those is a little heavy for a Tacoma. I should be 4-500lbs lighter than a FWC all said and done. One of the big reasons i went with the Ovrlnd is straight walls and a queen size bed. With the straight walls its been really really easy to build out the interior of the camper. Pretty much everything is a 90. I also like the idea of a straight up roof vs the triangle roof. So pretty much my philosophy for this camper is "dirtbag FWC". I don't plan on hanging out inside except right before bed, in the morning, and if the weather is bad.

Worked some more on the interior of the camper. Ran out of 8020 fittings, so cut a bunch of parts cut and made up. The final assembly, minus the panels should go pretty quickly. I am not sure if I like my latches yet.

The reason the fridge is so high up is to leave clearance for the propex exhaust.
