Thinking about converting my barn doors to the full doors and take off the tail gate... Anyone done this? Any problems with the conversion or sealing up all the joints?

Thanks Jeff

I’m looking to add an external solar port and shore plug to my camper - when you added those plugs how are you attaching them?

Through bolts w/ nuts on the inside? Screws? Would rivets through the skin work?

I’m assuming some kind of sealant behind the plug as well?
I used small bolts and nuts. There is not enough material for screws. But I'll bet rivets would work just fine. And I added silicone sealant before mounting my shore power plug. The smaller heater plugs have a nice silicone gasket that came with them.

Yep, love my full barn doors! Highly recommend.

Install was easy, three holes to drill on each doors, add some bolts and they are installed.

Getting all the gaskets added and the doors sealed was a bit of work and trail and error, but it was easy enough.

That's good to hear. I'm gonna pull the trigger on full barn too! I like having the tailgate for a work surface, but dealing with it in and out daily SUCKS

I drug my feet long enough making this video.
Really nice buildout; I think that’s the nicest one I’ve seen on any pop-up topper camper. You did a really clean looking job!

I couldn’t catch the name/brand of the propane regulator. I have a mount in the same area and need to find a good two stage vertical regulator. What was it, and have you been happy with it?

We haven’t had any problems with it. It provides smooth gas flow for both burners on our stove and the Propex HS2000 at the same time. Linked it below

Finally found a small power station that would meet my needs with DC input and 12V DC output that would be able to mount on the wall of the camper. It's the NEBO Rambler 200 and it allows the 12V systems in the camper to run while having an empty bed. It has a 200 watt inverter which is nice for charging cordless tool batteries as needed. This should work nice for me as I use the truck bed regularly for truck things. Thought this might be useful for those looking for a minimalist power station set up. I use a Bluetti AC60P for camping trips which has worked well as I use an electric kettle.

Which type? I am on my 3rd unsatisfactory mattress, looking for something better..also did you get the added bedding height option?
I got the Overland Pioneer, I have spent a few night with it and I am happy.

I did not go with the extra bedding height, but I wished I would have.

Thanks for the info/link. If you wouldn’t mind I have a few more questions on the propane setup. Is the pigtail hose from the tank to the regulator input a standard one from eTrailer and is it 12”? Just trying to figure the placement of the regulator in my set up and whether I need to find a shorty custom hose or not.

The 2nd question is the picture of that regulator on eTrailer looks like it has four threaded mounting posts on the backside, but I can’t really tell if that’s what they are. Am I right about that? Looks like you have your’s mounted. Do you remove it on the trail to avoid dust and dirt or just cover it?

Thanks!

Sorry about the slow response.. It is just a standard 12” pigtail from Etrailer.
The regulator does have 4 threaded mounting holes, but it doesn’t come with mounting screws. I had to dig around at the hardware store to find ones that would work. I can’t be sure, but I think they were a #6 size. It’s dark here now, but hopefully you can kinda see what I’m talking about.
I don’t cover it or do anything special
